| The African Educational Opportunities Foundation was founded in June of 2003 by Returned Peace Corps Volunteers in Boston, and it continues to be led by Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. As a result of our experiences in various African countries, we recognized that a relatively small amount of money can make a significant difference in lives of young African students by expanding their opportunities to continue their education in secondary school. US-based fundraising activities, events, and administration are currently held in the Boston area. The African Educational Opportunities Foundation , Inc., is incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and has been ruled 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization according to the Internal Revenue Code by the IRS. Our staff is entirely volunteer.
